Description
A sweet and savory grilled cheese sandwich with ripe bananas, honey, and melted cheddar cheese on buttery toasted bread.
Ingredients
4 slices of sourdough bread
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
2 ripe bananas, sliced
4 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons of honey
A pinch of salt
Instructions
Step 1: Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
Step 2: Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 3: Top each slice with half of the shredded cheddar cheese, followed by sliced bananas and a drizzle of honey.
Step 4: Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the bananas, then add the remaining cheddar cheese.
Step 5: Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
Step 6: Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Step 7: Remove from skillet, let cool for 1 minute, then slice and serve warm.
